The Best 7 Things at Autodesk University 2016 / by Scott A.

We compiled the top seven things that we saw at Autodesk University this year.

HingePoint covered the conference and saw tech for everything from making supermodels (not just BIM models) to automatic tagging technology for Revit and new 3D printing technology.

As we move into 2017 it is going to bring more and more of this technology, from virtual reality to generative design.

HSBCAD

HSBCAD shows off software for Microsoft’s HaloLens virtual reality headset just for the heck of it at Autodesk University. These are guys are growing across the world. The HoloLens has only been available to developers for a few months, but already HSBCAD has working software for the newest trend in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.

As the AEC industry gradually marches towards augmented and virtual reality, the software demo shows the robust capability of HSBCAD, said Bryce Finnerty, CEO and Founder of HingePoint.

UL’s Web App

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) wants to get credible sustainability data into Revit models more easily. To do so, UL recently launched a web-based product, sustainability-information tool that will help users select credible green products and place that information into their Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflow.

Collaborea

At Autodesk University 2016, Collaborea showed off their supermodel softwre. “Collaborea is the smart logbook during all phases of your project. In one workflow you inspect the job, communicate with all stakeholders and create tasks and assignments to process alterations. You can find all the information in one place for all involved parties, without them needing any additional software. Collaborea is the missing link for Autodesk Navisworks in issue management.”
