THE DAQRI SMART HELMET IS BRINGING AUGMENTED REALITY TO CONSTRUCTION SITES / by Scott A.

At the start of the year, Los Angeles -based “human-machine interface company”, Daqri, unveiled their flagship product, The Daqri Smart Helmet.

The helmet is, essentially, a smart hardhat that enables users see an augmented reality of the real world overlaid with layers of computer imagery, giving them additional information about their surroundings. With its blue, scratch-resistant visor, the Smart helmet was specifically created for workers in industrial settings, such as plants, rigs and construction sites with the intention to increase productivity, efficiency and safety.

Recently, DAQRI and Autodesk partnered on a BIM360 integration with Mortenson Construction. The application highlighted the benefits of Augmented Reality to transform how construction works. You can get more details on this case study here.
